A young couple in a 1968 Tarzana ranch with a primary bathroom that had not been touched since the original build. The shower stepped down. The vanity was 36 inches wide. They wanted a hotel feel without a hotel‑sized footprint. They did not want to give up the closet next door.
90 square feet to play with. 1968 plumbing in galvanized pipe. A tile slope grade that was wrong by half an inch. And a shared wall with the primary bedroom, where any new pipe noise would be heard at 6am.
We re‑graded the entire wet‑area subfloor, ran new PEX plumbing in a sound‑isolated chase, set a curbless shower with a linear drain, and built a single 5‑foot vanity with hidden charging. The shared wall got Rockwool insulation between studs. Eight weeks on site, fixed price.
We do not hear the shower run when one of us takes a 6am call. That mattered more than the marble.
Additional shots from this project will be added in production. The frames below are from the same studio, the same finish standard.
